Terminal ileitis as a form of disseminated tuberculosis

Abstract

Terminal ileitis (TI) is defined as the presence of inflammation in the terminal ileum. There are multiple causes of TI, and it has to be taken into account that its occurrence does not imply the occurrence of Crohn's disease (CD). It is therefore very important to perform a good differential diagnosis to avoid the mismanagement of the patient or delaying the diagnosis of the underlying cause.

Keywords: tuberculosis, terminal ileitis, crohn's disease, fever of unknown origin.
