Abstract

The diagnosis and treatment of incarcerated or strangulated femoral hernias is a challenge that must be addressed promptly by the surgeon. We report the case of a 92 year-old patient referred with a painful and irreducible femoral hernia of about 4 hours of evolution who was operated urgently presenting strangled and gangrenous cecal appendix (De Garengeot’s hernia). Literature, especially in relation to the best treatment of choice, is reviewed.
