Litiasis anclada en cuello vesicular

Calculous obstructing the cystic duct

Abstract

We present an image of magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography from an 86-year-old female in which we observe a calculous obstructing the cystic duct.

Calculous smaller than 3 mm usually pass through the cystic duct. The obstruction of the cystic duct by calculous causes 95% of acute cholecystitis. The cystic duct is optimally visualized with direct cholangiography or magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography.

Keywords: cholelithiasis, gallbladder, cystic duct.
